Right wing Tom Wilson left the Washington Capitals’ game against the Colorado Avalanche at the Ball Arena on Tuesday night with a lower-body injury after blocking a shot with his left leg just over seven minutes into the second period and did not return.
Here’s what happened to Tom Wilson and his massive shot block in the Hunt. He was caught in the right leg.
He has played in seven games since returning from nearly eight months of rehab following ACL surgery on his left knee in May.

Defenseman Brad Hunt’s slapshot appeared to hit the 28-year-old, who has two goals and three points in seven games this season, near the leg.
It was the opposite of the leg he tore after undergoing ACL surgery last May. Wilson missed the first 44 games of the season while recovering.
Washington, which was without Nicklas Backstrom (non-Covid-19-related illness) and right wing TJ Oshie (birth of fourth child) in Denver, hosts the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.
