talking Session with Renee Paquette, Ospreay was asked to name what and who he sees in the wrestling world. He responded by naming the style as one of his influences when he was growing up. Ospreay recalled how he loved that, even when TNA as a company was struggling, Styles was always great. He then stated that he likes to watch AEW, because he believes it is the best wrestling product on TV,
“One of my influences growing up was AJ Styles. I loved… I was fascinated by how he moved, how he talked. I liked it because he was a TNA guy. There was a point in TNA where it was Dogshaw—-, but be the be all and end all, you can always go, ‘Well at least AJ is there.’ I’ve always liked that. If the company is like s, you can always be like, ‘But at least there’s AJ.’ So I’ve always liked that. [Naomichi] Marufuji was also a huge influence, seeing how he moves and how he’s able to innovate to this day, it’s crazy how he does it.
“I love watching the old junior heavyweight matches, before he was Bullet Club, Prince Davitt, I loved watching that. I really just [like to] See AEW. For my money, it’s the best product, wrestling-wise, I think it’s more mature, I’d say. It’s better than ghost monsters.”
