Rohit Sharma suffered a brain fade during the toss in the second ODI between India and New Zealand at the Shaheed Bir Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Saturday. Rohit won the toss but forgot what he wanted his team to do first. It took him more than 10 seconds to decide to bowl first as opposition captain Tom Latham and match referee Javagal Srinath anxiously waited for the India captain’s call.

“I forgot what we wanted to do, had a lot of discussion with the team about the toss decision, just wanted to challenge ourselves in difficult situations, but we will bowl first,” said Rohit. “We batted first in Hyderabad, we wanted to bowl first here, the same team.”

India won the first ODI by 12 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series and will look to clinch the series with a win in Raipur. Kiwis must win on Saturday to survive the series.
