The former Pakistan cricketer wants his team to learn from India

Team India looks unbeatable in home conditions thanks to their recent dominant performances. This certainly raises hopes for a positive outcome in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup which India will host later this year. Earlier, the Men in Blue registered a 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, following a 2-1 win over the island nation in the 20-over format. Now they are on the verge of a second consecutive clean sweep against New Zealand.

The Rohit Sharma-led unit has already secured a win in the ongoing three-match ODI series against the Kiwis, securing an unassailable 2-0 margin. Talking about India’s exceptional form at home, former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria spoke about it YouTube The channel condemned Babar Azam’s brigades who have been struggling in their own backyard for a long time.

Before the India tour, the Black Caps traveled to Pakistan for a multi-format series comprising two Tests and three ODIs. The visitors won the ODI series 2-1, while both red ball matches ended in draws. With the result to his account, Danish Kaneria attacked Pakistan’s batting unit which failed to breach the 300-run mark in the entire ODI series. The hosts were bowled out for just 182 runs in the second game.

Comparing India’s below-par display, Kaneria noted, “Did we score any significant big in ODIs? Has anyone got a score of 200? Was there a performance that stood out? no We need to be aware of everything and learn from other countries like India, who are taking advantage of their situation. But we are afraid to face our own situation here.”

Additionally, the former spinner had his say on the trendy topic of Pakistan’s captaincy change in the shortest format. It seemed doubtful who would replace Babar Azam in T20 Internationals. According to Kaneria, the board needs to think of a suitable candidate for the leadership role before removing Azam. He also highlighted that Pakistan lacked experimentation with their bench players, while India were seen experimenting with multiple combinations.

Taking a dig at the senior cricketers, especially skipper Azam, Kaneria explained, “India now have an opportunity to test their bench and try out some new players in the third ODI. But in Pakistan, what you think about yourself matters. Babar Azam’s continuous runs of 50-60 did not benefit the team; Instead, it only leads to losses.”

New Zealand will spend some more time in Asia during their upcoming assignment. After the tour of Sri Lanka, they will tour Pakistan again in April to play a limited-overs series.
