Shubman Gill equaled Babar Azam’s record with his fourth ODI century against New Zealand

Shubman Gill scored 112 runs off 78 deliveries at an impressive strike rate of 143.59 in an innings that included 13 boundaries and five maximums.

India’s new run machine, Shubman Gill registered his fourth ODI century and second of the series against New Zealand in Indore on Tuesday.

Gill scored 112 runs off 78 deliveries as he tore apart the Kiwi bowling line-up along with his opening partner and captain Rohit Sharma.

Gill also equaled Babar Azam’s record for highest runs in a three-match ODI series with 360 runs. Babar scored 360 against West Indies in 2016.

Gill hit 13 boundaries and five sixes in the innings, at a strike rate of 143.59.

Gill entertained the crowd with some fine shots, but the highlight of the innings was when he smashed Lockie Ferguson’s 22 in the 8th over with four boundaries and a six.

The right-hander scored 208 runs in the first ODI And a quick innings of 40* in a low-scoring 2n.d ODI

Gill has now scored 1254 runs in 21 ODIs at an average of 73.76 and a strike rate of 109.81. Gill also became the fastest Indian to reach there in 19 ODIs and the second fastest to 1000 ODI runs.
