Sami Zain is guilty

raw aired tonight (23 January) with a live show from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is its last episode raw Build towards nine weeks time Royal Rumble, which takes place this Saturday (January 28). It also celebrates Raw’s 30th anniversary.

Sami Zain is guilty

Sami Zayn was on the verge of becoming a full member of The Bloodline at WarGames two months ago. That night, he chose allegiance to Roman Reigns over his friendship with Kevin Owens. But things quickly went south for Honorary Us.

Since Wargames, Zayn has been more aggressive in trying to make his mark as a proud member of The Bloodline, but he’s stepped on Roman’s toes a few times along the way. Then, thanks to John Cena, Zayn made the terrible mistake of contributing to Roman’s near-perfect record of losses as 2022 approaches.

Roman has since snapped at Zayn multiple times, accusing him of wanting to take his place as tribal chief, and insulting him when Sami openly thinks he’s just being used. That seed of doubt was planted in Sami’s head by Kevin Owens.

Challenging Reigns for Owens WWE Universal Championship Royal Rumble. During last week’s contract signing for that match, Owens ambushed Full Bloodline and powerbombed Roman through a table. Zayn never came back to the ring until after all the damage was done and Owens had escaped. All the members of The Bloodline looked at Sami, wondering why he wasn’t there to watch the tribal chief’s back.

As a result, Sami Zayn is on trial tonight in Tribal Court, which features multiple generations of The Bloodline. Sami’s defense for what happened at the time of the contract signing will likely revolve around ordering Roman to do menial tasks like preparing cars and jets for The Bloodline. But if you blame the mob boss when something goes wrong, you’re being beaten. Sami is in a tough spot here; If the family finds him guilty, it could be the end of his run with The Bloodline.

Looking ahead, a main event championship match between Reigns and Zayn should take place on February 18 at Elimination Chamber in Montreal or at WrestleMania 39 in early April. If Zayn’s title shot is coming in four weeks from now in Montreal, The Bloodline needs to destroy him as soon as possible, because the clock is ticking.

Tonight makes sense for the turn because Reigns doesn’t need Sami to defeat Owens at the Royal Rumble. There’s no way Roman can beat against KO, so it’ll be hard for Sami to put him down. If Zayn is booted from The Bloodline tonight, it also creates a very interesting scenario where he is actually a more viable contender to win the Royal Rumble match.

It’s Raw XXX, the 30th anniversary of Raw, and the viewership numbers for this show should be among WWE’s best numbers of the year. It’s also a great time to show the big angle resulting from Sami’s breakup from The Bloodline, giving WWE’s best story a big plot twist as WrestleMania hits hard.

The rest of the title scene

United States champion Austin Theory will defend his title against Bobby Lashley tonight. Lashley won the title match with some help from Omos. Other things to keep an eye on

– Becky Lynch and Bayley are going at it tonight in a steel cage match. This has been in the making for at least a few months, and it seems to me that The Man is in a good position to win.

– Raw XXX will have a lot of nostalgia. Past WWE stars expected to appear tonight include Hulk Hogan, Undertaker, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Bella Twins, Kurt Angle, Triple H, Ron Simmons, Teddy Long and Jerry Lawler.

– I think this will be The Undertaker’s first return to Raw or SmackDown since his final farewell at Survivor Series 2020. Are we getting a dead man gimmick, biker taker or something else? Will he get physical, perhaps with a chokeslam on a vicious heel like Chad Gable?

– Banger Brothers is coming Raw XXX?

– Now that Seth Rollins is out of the United States Championship picture, he can focus all of his attention on preparing for the Royal Rumble match.

– Bronson Reed’s WWE debut with a dominant win over Akira Tozawa. Will he feast on another babyface before the Royal Rumble match?

– Is Dexter Loomis about to have a very creepy interaction with a WWE legend?

– Mustafa Ali was failing to get Dolph Ziggler’s attention, so he resorted to violence last week. How will Dolph respond?

– Cody Rhodes returns to WWE in the men’s Royal Rumble match. Will Matt Riddle follow suit, or will he return in some capacity tonight?

– There are plenty of Royal Rumble entrants left to be announced, especially on the women’s side of the ledger.
