It is a tradition unlike any other; Fans are speculating Who will be surprise participants in the annual Royal Rumble match. That speculation Now ramping upWith the event just a week away, and one name that has come up is Rob Van Dam. And why wouldn’t he; RVD is a former WWE Champion, has made a surprise return at the Rumble before, and is a WWE Hall of Famer who still competes in the ring on a semi-regular basis. So will RVD be in the Rumble? In an interview with Dr “Count to Ten,” Van Dam played cool about whether fans should be there, but still expressed openness to being one of the 30 participants in the Rumble.
“It would be great,” Van Damme said. “I don’t have any plans to share with you. All I can say is I feel great.” Unfortunately for RVD and his longtime fans, the odds don’t seem to be stacked against him. Posted in Latest Odds For Royal Rumble Winners BetOnline, Van Dam was not only a huge underdog, he wasn’t even listed among the favorites, which featured over 30 wrestlers in and out of WWE. This at least suggests that Van Dam is a long shot to be in the match.
If Van Dam does appear, it will be his first appearance in a Royal Rumble match since 2009, when he was brought in as a one-night surprise. Although RVD would return to WWE in the summer of 2013 and work with the promotion for the following year, he was off TV during the 2014 Royal Rumble and thus did not participate in the match.
