Ric Flair apologizes to Becky Lynch backstage at Raw XXX – WrestlingRumors.net

This past week on Raw, WWE Presented Its 3rd anniversary show, also known as ‘Raw XXX’. It featured the return of many legends, including Ric Flair, who not only introduced his daughter Charlotte, but also took time to mend some fences backstage.

In the latest “To Be The Man” podcast, Flair spoke about his experience on ‘Raw XXX’:

When returning to a WWE show:

“It was fantastic. I’ve got to tell you, I’ve learned more about myself and what I’ve missed in the business and what I haven’t missed in a day since I’ve been away for so long. I felt honored. I felt like I wanted to. I felt like I was part of it again. I walked away a better person with a better understanding of who I am as a person and what the business is about.”

Regarding the apology to Becky Lynch:

“It started with me and Hunter talking for about an hour, which was a personal discussion, but a lot of issues that had lingered for years were resolved, and then I apologized to Becky Lynch. I went up to her and said, ‘I’m your can talk to for a minute’, and I said, ‘I’m sorry it got to where it is.’ I went over and shook Seth Rollins’ hand and said, ‘I apologize to your wife.’

“I just decided that, you know, it comes with all documentaries. Sometimes you get so caught up in things that you forget and you say it so many times over the years. In fact, the whole ‘The Man’ trademark was decided by someone other than him and me. There wasn’t as much money involved in it which the company would cut a good chunk of anyway. Then I saw them with the baby and I thought, ‘My God, this is going to be Ashley one day.’ It’s not worth it. I am not that person anymore. The Man is who people think he is and basically we’ve turned it over to social media to define who The Man is.

In his discussion with Triple H:

“I mean, we both went through the same thing. I didn’t realize how much she went through and I didn’t realize how much she went through. I do now. I definitely won’t share. He was in a bad place like me. When you get there and you realize that you’re the only one who can be there, which hopefully no one has to go anytime soon, there’s more to it and it’s time to look into each other’s eyes and talk. Troubles, put them behind you and hope we get to each other tomorrow. He was like me and it took him a long time to get over it.

About Vince McMahon:

“I did not see him and did not ask. I did not mention his name. I did with Taker, we talked about Vince. I don’t know more than I did after going to Vince’s show.
