Anjoy Dravid, younger son of India’s senior men’s head coach Rahul Dravid, has been appointed as the captain of the Karnataka U-14 team for a zonal tournament.
Rahul Dravid is currently with the senior Indian men’s team for the ongoing three-match ODIs series Against New Zealand.
A new Dravid is born: Anjoy Dravid follows in his father’s footsteps
Just as Rahul Dravid was the captain and wicketkeeper-batsman of the Indian team, his son Anjoy is also a wicketkeeper-batsman and will now lead the U14 Karnataka team. Anjoy is known as a good batsman for his age and has been rewarded for his hard work and consistency with the bat.
In 2020, he fell short of a century but grabbed the headlines for his brilliant fifty in the BTR Shield Under-14 Group I semi-final.

Now after becoming the captain, Anjoy is going to have the big responsibility of leading the team by example in the upcoming inter-zonal tournament. It remains to be seen how he performs in this role. Anwar also has an elder brother named Samit Dravid. Sameet is also a batter.
In one zonal match, both the Dravidian brothers played brilliant innings. The match was a part of the BTR Shield Under 14 Schools Tournament, where the pair put on a 200-run stand. Anav scored 90 runs in that match. The performance of the two brothers helped their school reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
Anve might be under a bit of pressure as he participated in the U14 Inter-Zonal Tournament and will be watched by many.
