NJPW/NOAH Tribute to Jay Briscoe at Wrestle Kingdom 17 at Yokohama Arena

talent from New Japan Pro Wrestling And pro wrestling NOAH came together this week to pay their respects to Jay Briscoe, days after his death.

Briscoe Died on Tuesday Due to a car accident just minutes from her home in Laurel, Delaware.

The accident also killed the other driver, while Joy’s daughters, who were in her car at the time, required surgery.

Wrestle Kingdom 17 Tribute

Today, NJPW hosted the second night of Wrestle Kingdom 17 featuring talent from their promotion and Pro Wrestling NOAH.

Opening the main card, both rosters made their way to the ring, with Naomichi Marufuji and Hiroshi Tanahashi holding victory portraits.

After a ten-hour salute, “Reach for the Sky, Son” was played through the Yokohama Arena.

Briscoe competed for both NJPW and NOAH throughout his career and won gold in both companies alongside his brother Mark.

Other tributes

New Japan and NOAH are two of the various promotions paying tribute to the late Briscoe.

Later this week AEW dynamite, Tony Khanits promotion Organized a tribute which was shared on Ring of Honor’s YouTube channel.

At the beginning of this week’s episode of Impact TV, an “In Memory of” graphic was shown with Tom Hanniphan’s narration and condolences to his family.

On Twitter, the N.W.A Crockett shared a photo of the Briscoes winning the cup and described Jay as an “amazingly talented man”.
