The EFL Cup semi-final match between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest almost ended in disaster when an advertising hoarding near the ground caused pressure from fans. Crowd control police and local authorities quickly brought the situation under control and the match resumed within minutes after some spectators were moved to different parts of the stadium.
“It was an unpleasant watch for a moment or two, but everyone seems to be OK in that corner. They’re giving back the billboard,” commented former Manchester United defender Gary Neville.
