Kazuchika Okada wants the Wrestling World Cup with WWE and AEW

New Japan’s Kazuchika Okada is hopeful that WWE and AEW will put their differences aside for the World Cup of Wrestling.

Earlier this month at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17, Okada defeated IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White to win the title, becoming the first to hold the gold twice.

talking Tokyo SportsOkada has pitched his idea for a crossover event and is set to speak with higher-ups in WWE and AEW.

“It would be interesting to have a wrestling World Cup, it would be fun to have a big event worldwide. We could have a tag team of Okada and Nakamura or Naito fighting for their country. I’ll go see Tony Khan and Triple H if necessary.

Wrestle Kingdom 17 saw AEW’s Kenny Omega and FTR compete while WWE’s Karl Anderson lost the Never Openweight Championship to Tama Tonga.
