IND vs NZ: “Countries like Pakistan should learn and adopt this approach”: Salman Butt on India’s cricket system

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt feels that India can produce batsmen of the highest caliber due to their strong domestic system.

He believes that since they are encouraged to play extended innings from age-based cricket, the Men in Blue find the batsmen in that mood.

Butt believes that Pakistan should take note of Shubman Gill’s achievements and adjust to their domestic system in light of his status as the youngest batsman and the sixth Indian to score a double century in ODIs.

Salman Butt discusses Indian cricket in a video on his YouTube account, as follows: “India should study the system and adopt other teams, like our own Pakistan, who often lose games chasing high scores despite being in a position to win. You must organize these competitions and allow children to hone their skills. This ability will come naturally to them in five to ten years.”

“The real credit for India’s dominance in the 200-club is junior-level cricket, where hitters are dedicated to playing for longer periods. As there is no time limit, your ability to run into the right shots and set up batsmen to take wickets improves.” Salman Butt added.

“Our batsmen score half-centuries and get out”: Salman Butt

Salman Butt feels that because they play more in the shorter formats at a younger age, the current generation of Pakistani hitters lack the temperament to play long innings.

Butt emphasized the importance of establishing proper procedures and said: “As we have given them 80-90 per cent T20 cricket at the youth and university level, our batsmen have been hitting half-centuries.”

“We have not prioritized longer formats, so they play risky shots because they lack the required skills. Gill was able to play such great knocks at such a young age because of his exposure and proper approach” Salman Butt added.

It is important to note that Pakistan’s next match will be the white-ball series against New Zealand in April.
