The Indian cricket team is all set to play a high-voltage Test series against Australia in February. This Test series is very important for India as they need to win the series by 3-0 or 3-1 to qualify for the WTC final. Suryakumar Yadav Could be the ‘X’ factor for India as he has wide shots and can surprise the opposition.

The Men in Blue will need to bring their ‘A’ game against Australia as the Aussies will be well prepared this time around. The specialty of the Australian cricket team is that they no longer depend on Steven Smith and David Warner to score runs.

Suresh Raina on Suryakumar Yadav

Suresh Raina was having a conversation with Akash Chopra on Viacom 18 Sports and was asked about whether Suryakumar Yadav should play in all 3 formats. “Of course, the way he’s performing. I think he should play in all three formats and not in all three formats without him. The way he performs, the way he shows intent, the way he plans different shots, he plays fearlessly and knows how to use the ground level.” Said Suresh Raina.

“He is a Mumbai player, and he knows how to play red ball cricket. I think he has a great opportunity – playing Test cricket will give him more of an establishment and some stability in ODIs. He will score multiple 100’s and then 200’s. she added.

Enthralling contests on the cards

The Aussies are on the brink of qualifying for the WTC final where a win would seal the final. Aussies will rely on Usman Khawaja to play long and effective innings for the team. It will be interesting to see how Marnus Labuschagne fares as this will be his first visit to India.

Former skipper Virat Kohli has not had a promising record against Australia in recent times. The batter has to make sure that he sticks to the crease. Management should be in a mix because cuts and changes will not always work especially in crunch series.
