Team India is going to be the host Australia in The upcoming Border-Gavaskar TrophyStarting from 09 February in Nagpur. The four Tests in this series will be crucial for both teams to secure a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
led by Pat Cummins, the Australia team is sensational both home and away. Test matches under Australia and in the subcontinent, series wins in Pakistan and a draw against Sri Lanka.
The former Australian cricketer spoke before the tour of India Ian Healy Digged India about the pitch and also predicted the scoreline of the red ball battle. Notably, Australia’s recent record against India has not been impressive, and they will be looking to change that.
But the visitors will be tested in spin conditions and Healy feels too much spin will be a big challenge. Healy said Australia have a good chance of winning if India produce reasonable wickets. The former wicketkeeper observed that the spin-friendly tracks would help the hosts and predicted a 2-1 win for Team India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
“They (India) have got a good team, but I don’t fear their spinners unless they produce absurd wickets. If they take absurd wickets like they did in the last half of the series (we won’t win), two wickets was just terrible, unfair, spinners go over your head on day one.” Healy said as he took over.
“So that’s the kind of thing they’ll play better than us, but if they get the flat wickets that India have laid before, nice flat batting wickets and the bowlers have to work really hard, I think we can do it. But (my prediction is) 2-1 India, if (Mitchell) Starc is unavailable for the first Test,” she added.
