News of big moves on the women’s collegiate front today as four-time undefeated collegiate national champion, Emily Shilson, will transfer from Augsburg to McKendree. Shilson revealed the news via her Instagram account today.
Shilson won the last three NCWWC national titles at 109 pounds while competing in Augsburg; However, he did not compete for the Auggies during the 2022–23 campaign. Early indications are that Shilson will be able to wrestle as soon as 2023 for McKendree. His only collegiate action this year came at the All-Star Classic when Shilson wrestled unseeded and battled Life University’s Peyton Prosin. Prusin took an early lead, but Shilson came back to win 8-4.
The addition of Shilson will boost the three-time defending NCWWC national champion Bearcats. Recently, at the National Duals, McKendree finished third, losing to King in the semifinals.
In addition to his collegiate achievements, Shilson has experienced a great deal of success on the international scene. Shilson has won world titles in three different age groups (Cadet/Junior/U23) in his short career. In total, he has four world medals, including a gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in 2018.
