D-Von Dudley has announced his retirement from WWE

D-Von Dudley, real name Devon Hughes, has announced that he is no more WWE.

After a run with Bubba Ray Dudley in WWE from 2015-2016, D-Von retired from in-ring action to begin working as a producer and later a WWE producer. NXT trainer

As part of The Dudley Boyz tag team, he wrestled as D-Von Dudley and Reverend D-Von in ECW from 1995 to 1999 and WWE from 1999 to 2005. He starred as Brother Devon and Devon for TNA from 2005 to 2014.

He characterized the departure as a mutual decision and offered thanks Vince McMahon, Paul Levesque, and Stephanie McMahon. You can read her statement below:


“The company (WWE) and I have decided to part ways, and feel it’s the best decision for all parties, while it’s been a pleasure and an honor to work with Bubba, as well as all the young talent he’s worked with in NXT. Also working with some of the best manufacturers in the world. Vince, Paul (HHH), Stephanie, and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be on the mic to give thanks for the opportunity. I am so excited to see where God brings me, oh my brother……. Testify!!!!”

His sons Terrence and Tyrell worked AEW in YouTube shows and the independent wrestling scene. He openly hoped they would one day join NXT to wrestle.
