Perth Scorchers have played some brilliant cricket throughout the season and are currently on top Big Bash League Points Table 2023. Ahead of the much-awaited playoffs, they have another piece of business to settle as the Ashton Turner-led side prepare to take on the Melbourne Renegades in their final league game of the season on January 22.
Renegades will look to pick up all the points as their qualification is still under threat. They are currently third in the points table with 12 points from 12 matches. In their last game, the Aaron Finch-led side lost by eight wickets as their batting unit failed to perform. Will Sutherland was the lone batsman but his innings of 42* off 23 balls went in vain as Thunder chased down the total with ease. In terms of bowling, only Corey Rocchioli looked dangerous.

Scorchers, on the other hand, have nothing to worry about right now. They completely cornered the Adelaide Strikers in the previous match and will hope to repeat the same against the Renegades. Three of their bowlers (David Paine, Lance Morris and Peter Hatzoglow) had taken three wickets each in the previous match and Aaron Hardy’s brilliant innings with the bat gave the Scorchers their 10th win of the season.
