The Colorado Avalanche recognized Washington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper and forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel during the first period of their game against the Caps at the Ball Arena on Tuesday night.
During the first televised timeout, the Avs shared a video montage honoring Kuemper and Aube-Kubel, both members of Colorado’s Stanley Cup championship run last summer.

Kuemper, who backstopped the Avalanche to their first Stanley Cup in more than two decades with a 10-4 record, .902 save percentage, 2.57 goals-against average and one shutout, signed a five-year deal with the Caps in free agency, the team’s de facto one. The number is becoming
Aube-Koubel, who the Caps acquired via the waiver wire, played in 67 games in an Avalanche sweater last season, recording 11 goals and 22 points with no points in 14 playoff games.
