AEW Dark Live Coverage (01/24) – Action Andretti vs. Bronson, Britt Baker vs. Billy Starks, Dark Order in Action

Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage of “AEW Dark” on January 24, 2023 from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida!

Action Andretti Jericho won over two members of the Jericho Appreciation Society, Daniel Garcia and Chris Jericho. Tonight, he has another tough task ahead of him when he takes on Iron Savages’ Bronson. Elsewhere, Mascara Dorada will return to AEW as she faces The Workhorseman’s Anthony Henry. Dorada last appeared on the September 19 episode of “Dark”, during which he defeated Serpentico.

Dark Order members Alex Reynolds, John Silver and Evil Uno won against Serpentico and The Wingmen’s Ryan Nemeth and “Pretty” Peter Avalon. Tonight, they look to continue their winning streak as they face Balian Akki, Vary Morales and Marcus Cross. Speaking of Serpentico, he will face off with Ring of Honor star Tony Deppen while Nemeth and Avalon’s wingmen teammate, Cesar Bononi, will take on Matt Sydal.

After teaming up with AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter to defeat Saraya and Toni Storm, Dr. Britt Baker DMD looks to pick up another win tonight as she goes one-on-one with Billie Starks. Baker has not appeared on “Dark” since April of last year after defeating Shauna Reid. Elsewhere in the women’s division, AEW coach Madison Reign will take on Casey Lennox and Harley Cameron will take on Brittany J.

We are alive! Taz and Excalibur greet the crowd at home as Brit Baker and Rebels make their way to the ring. Billy Starks is already waiting inside.

The call bell rings and the two lock up. They exchanged submissions before Starkz reached out to Baker. Baker takes it with a taunt, then delivers an elbow, then a slingblade. Baker delivers another elbow, then sends him crashing to the mat. Starkz delivers a boot, then goes up top for a cannonball. Rebel pushes Baker out of the way and takes it, allowing Baker to deliver a thrust kick. Starkz lifts Baker onto his shoulders, but Baker escapes and delivers an armbar. He follows it up with a butterfly, then looks for a curbstomp. Starkz moves out of the way and delivers a Tombstone, then goes for a pin. Baker kicked out at the last minute, then managed to hit a Canadian Destroyer and a Curbstomp for the win.

Winner: Dr. Britt Baker DMD

The Dark Order heads to the ring, with Marcus Cross, Very Morales and Balian Akki already waiting inside.

Dark Order vs. Marcus Cross, Vary Morales and Balian Akki

Silver and Morales started the action. The call bell rings and the two lock up. They exchange submission holds before Silver slams Morales to the top rope and hits a back elbow. Uno tags in and delivers a big boot. Akki tags in and looks for a kick. Uno catches Reynolds before tagging in and hits a cutter and delivers a right hand. Akki lands a kick to her face, but Reynolds responds with a kick and back elbow. Akki kicks Reynolds in the head, then tags in Morales. Silver and Reynolds throw Morales into Uno. Uno hits a powerbomb, then becomes the legal man. The Dark Order then delivers the Pendulum Bomb for the win.

Winners: Dark Order

The Spanish announce project is heading to the ring, with Tony Deppen already waiting inside.

Tony Deppen vs. Serpentico (Luther & Angelico)

The call bell rings and the two lock up. Serpentico delivers a shoulder tackle, then follows it up with a hurricanrana. Deppen delivers a knee and a dropkick, then sets him up to charge. Luther grabs his ankle while the referee is distracted, allowing Serpentico to deliver an eye rack and a headbutt. Serpentico hits a thrust kick to the head of Depane, then goes for the pin. Deppen kicked out and delivered a series of right and left hands. He hits a diving knee to the back of Serpentico’s head, followed by a double knee and a suplex. He climbs to the top rope, then looks for a double stomp. Serpentico moves out of the way as Deppen runs the ropes. Angelico takes him down, but the referee grabs him and throws him out from ringside. Deppen runs the rope again and Luther does the same. The referee grabs him as well and Serpentico kicks him out for the referee. Deppen takes advantage and delivers an arm drag. He then converted into a pinning predicament for the win.

Winner: Tony Deppen

Cesar Bononi and “Pretty” Peter Avalon make their way to the ring, followed by Matt Sydal

Matt Sydal vs. Cesar Bonney (with Peter Avalon)

The call bell rings and the two lock up. Sydal lands a kick, then takes Avalon down. Bonney attacks him from behind and delivers a series of stomps, then throws him into the top turnbuckle. He hits a vicious right hand, but Sydal fires back with a few stomps. Bonney looks for a powerbomb, but Sydal reverses it into a headscissors for the win.

Winner: Matt Sydal

After the match, Ryan Nemeth blindsided Sydal with an attack. Avalon and Bonnie join in, but Top Flight rushes to Sydal’s aid.

Harley Cameron makes her way to the ring, Brittany Jay is already waiting inside.

Harley Cameron vs. Brittany J

The call bell rings and the two lock up. They go back and forth with submission holds before Cameron starts hitting a series of kicks. She whips Brittany into the corner, then charges at her. Brittany gets her boot up, then hits a dropkick. He goes up top and goes flying, but Cameron moves out of the way and delivers a flying clothesline. He follows it up with a backstabber for the win.

Winner: Harley Cameron

As Madison Rayne heads to the ring, Kaci Lennox is already waiting inside.

Madison Rayne vs. Casey Lennox

The call bell rings and the two lock up. Lennox shoves Rayne in the corner, but Rayne fires back with several forearms and a kick to Lennox’s head. Lennox plants Rayne, then looks for a jumping knee. Rayne rolls out of the way, then delivers a cross to Rayne for the win.

Winner: Madison Raine

Bronson heads to the ring, followed by Andretti in action.
